About me

Welcome to The Amateur Expert! My name is Phil and I’m the founder, writer, and chief amateur expert of this blog. Here, you’ll find reliable product reviews and advice from a real person who isn’t afraid to admit they’re an amateur.

What makes me an “amateur”? Well, I’m not a professional reviewer, nor am I an “expert” in any of the products I review. But I’ve worked as a journalist and writer for almost 10 years and, in that time, I’ve developed a lot of skills that (I beleive) give me an edge when it comes to researching and discovering information that isn’t immediately obvious on first look.

My interests

To be honest, I’m a bit of a ‘Jack of all trades’. Which means, I love to try new things out, new experiences, gadgets, ideas, travel, you name it! In fact, I think that’s why I enjoy writing — it’s the one thing that I can do, reasonably well, that links to all the others.

I have a really wide range of interests, from health and fitness, to tech and gadgets, travel, reading, my pets (too many to list here) and online stuff such as websites and seo. I really enjoy meeting new people and networking, so I also have a lot of friends and acquaintances who are like me, and have a ton of different interests and activities, so they can help me too.

My goals

I created The Amateur Expert because I believe that everyone should have access to reliable, honest product reviews before making a purchase. I’m not a professional expert, and that’s why I’m an amateur. But I’m passionate about what I do and I’m here to help you make informed decisions.

My goal here is to provide honest reviews and personal insights into the products I review. I’ll be open and honest about my experiences with the products and I won’t sugarcoat the truth. I’m also hoping to build a community of engaged followers who share their own experiences and opinions.

I’m excited to start this journey with you and I hope you’ll join me in exploring the world of products. Together, we can make sure that everyone has access to the best products on the market.

Thanks for visiting The Amateur Expert. Let’s get started!
