‘There’s a Lady Who’s Sure All that Glitters is Gold…’

‘There’s a Lady Who’s Sure All that Glitters is Gold…’

Fashion fades, only style remains the same.

Coco Chanel.

Fashion changes quickly. Sometimes we can find a new trend in our old closet. With holiday season in full swing, we are looking forward to wearing all shiny and sparkling. Decoration lights are already here and there, and soon no one will look ridiculous wearing sequined dresses and tops and shiny metal accessories. I was happy to re-discover a few items in my wardrobe that could be fashionably worn again.

Some of these items are basically never out of fashion. It is my leopard print shimmering scarf (bought in a Mall boutique for $12! Alas, that boutique is closed down now). The scarf has some subtle silver shimmer to it and the leopard spots are light brown. Every time I wear it, I receive a lot of compliments on it! Surprisingly, I found a similar one here:

Another discovery were silver PU leather ankle boots from Forever 21. It was a steal of a deal for $11 (!) and I would not be more than happy to wear them again. The silver buttons on my black coat by Express as well as two silver decoration buttons on my cap by Express match the boots. Strict fashion rules dictate that the color of your shiny metal accessories should be matching (silver with silver, gold with gold). Only in recent years we can see that this rule is not always observed.

It looks like sparkling or sequined shoes and boots are in trend, too:

Greedy for more shine, I wore underneath a bebe knitted sequined top.

I have had this metallic silver clutch by Bandolino for a while. It is high time to wear it on these sparkling days:

These purses are shiny hot now:

BCBGMAXAZRIA gold colorblock stripe metal mesh 'Roxy' clutch

Deux Lux gold with turquoise jewels 'Twiggy' wristlet pouch

Enjoy $40 off your first order over $200 at Bluefly.com. Ends 12/31/12.

Trend of ‘shimmer and glitter’ is officially declared on all fashion websites. Have you found some sparkling treasures in your closet? Here is some inspiration for you from the places where a bling-bling party is in full swing:

Leatherette Strap Embellished Tank

Chevron Sequin Tank Dress

Sequin Patterned Mesh Insert Dress

Geometric Sequin Blocked Dress

Faux Leather & Sequin Tank

Wyatt lead-, silver-, and gold-tone sequined silk chiffon strapless dress

Sue Wong blush sequined scoop neck cap sleeve dress

Romeo & Juliet Couture ivory chiffon sequined sleeveless blouse

Could I be your inspiration for the coming year?:-)

Shoes: bebe

Do you wear shiny things all year round? Or is it for Winter Holidays only? Some of these little shiny things may be great gifts for friends and family.

I am wearing an eyeliner by Urban Decay, shade glam rock. This is a great gift for any woman, that would add some nice touch to her eye makeup:

For kids it can be some cute cell phone case like this one:

I hope you have found great deals after Thanksgiving for your family and friends and will find more. Maybe it is cheesy, but I think anything that shines is automatically a win:-) I cannot help singing this old good song to myself: ‘There’s a lady who is sure all that glitters is gold…’

Enjoy the shiny days of forthcoming Holidays and love and warmth of your family and friends!

Share and Enjoy
