Inspiration from Nature: Red Cardinal vs Red Romper.
“I’m very happy being me, although sometimes I’d love to be a bird so that I could fly”.
Nature made it perfect: all creatures are wearing their own skins, furs or scales with fins. Except for humans. We cannot walk in our own skin. We love watching bright feathered birds, touching fluffy kittens and are amazed by the sleekness of dolphins when given a chance to touch them for the first time. Only human natural looks bring about a lot of controversy. It was not only about weather conditions that made us cover ourselves. That is when Fashion emerged: since we have to wear something, let this something be beautiful! We like to wear all colors, all designs and we even borrow skin from other animals. As human beings, we have never been content with our destiny to walk. We wanted to swim as fast as big sea creatures and to fly like birds. Now we have it all: variety of clothes (and nothing to wear, of course) and variety of transportation (and plenty of destinations to explore).
If I could be for a short time someone else other than a human, I would be a bird. Every day I look at red cardinals joyfully jumping from branch to branch in my backyard, and it makes me feel good. What an awesome agile restless creature red cardinal is! No need to hide their feathers, and no worries what to wear. I am getting my inspiration from red cardinals! Does my red and purple silk romper resemble red cardinal outfit?
Red Cardinal: its own feathers.
Me: red & purple silk romper from Bebe (thrifted).
BCBG black wedges.
Here are more bright rompers that drew my attention:
We are not yet ready to say good-bye to summer here, in Florida. Rompers are such last scream before cooler season sets in.
