Fresh Seafood & Greek Village in Tarpon Springs

Fresh Seafood & Greek Village in Tarpon Springs

I am on a seafood diet. Every time I see food, I eat it.

I would like to share with you my impressions from visiting a Greek Village in Tarpon Springs, FL. If you are looking for a half-day local trip for those of you from Tampa Bay Area, it is a great place to go either with friends or family. For all others it is just another idea of one of your sights when you visit Tampa Bay. First of all, you will taste the freshest seafood in Tampa Bay – delivered right from the boat! Second, you can spoil yourself with delicious dishes and desserts from Greek cafes and stores. Also, you can get some aromatic soaps and body lotions from multiple Greek shops. Finally, your trip would not be complete without getting a real sponge harvested locally by experienced divers. Parking is not expensive, and you can enjoy some waterfront walks and views. Boat rides and fishing tours are also available. If you want to stock up on the freshest seafood, bring the cooler, and buy it right before you leave. It is worth it, and you will never get anything like that in the supermarket.

This is one of the freshest seafood available in Tampa Bay. Pelican Point Seafood.

Inside of the store you will be overwhelmed by the selection. They can clean and cut the whole fish for you as well:

Next to the store is a waterfront grill and tiki bar, Rusty Bellies. They can cook the fish you choose from the store.

Oysters are huge, super fresh and delicious here:

Crabcakes were so delicious that I hardly managed to take a picture before they were gone! Both sides, a coleslaw and a corn casserole were out of this world. You can also buy non-cooked crabcakes to take home.

No meal is complete without a dessert. For this matter, a Taste of Greece cafe is there to please you. European pastries like baklavas, cakes and cookies with tea or coffee are delicious there!

After gourmet meals, a walk through various small shops is obligatory.

Pamper yourself with a real sponge:
